Error in the Site Data Web Service. (Value does not fall within the expected range.)

I know there are a lot of other MOSS 2007 environments in this world that are waiting to be upgraded to MOSS 2010, so I hope the following will help out with your situation that took us a bit of time to fix!

- MOSS 2007 Service Pack 1 - 12.0.0.6219

- Performed an AD User Migration

- Applied Hotfix KB941422 (WSS 3.0) - which was suppose to fix the Site Data Web Service issues

- Applied all individual updates including Cumulative Updates (since SP1 and after SP2) and Service Pack 2 as per Microsoft site - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/office/sharepointserver/bb735839.aspx

***I have my doubts about Service Pack 2 that states that it includes all updates since SP1, therefore I updated each one individually to make sure.

If you have done the above and still get the following error for your site collection:

Error in the Site Data Web Service. (Value does not fall within the expected range.)

Then I highly recommend this blog for the fix:

Content Preparation Progress for Adobe Reader

Sick and tired of Content Preparation Progress crashing Adobe Reader?

I tried a few solutions from Google without any luck, such as:

- upgrading from Adobe Reader 8.00 to 8.13
- renaming or moving pluggins
- changing options.

After spending two hours searching for solution on Google, I finally gave up and uninstall Adobe Reader, reboot PC and deleted Adobe Reader when I log back on. Installed Adobe Reader 8.13.

To cut the story short, I did the following to fix this issue:

1. Edit > Preferences > Reading > Reading Order
2. Select "Use reading order in raw print stream"
3. Check "Override the reading order in tagged documents"
4. Click OK

This should now allow Content Preparation Progress to complete it's job and allow you to view large PDF file without any issues.

Anyway, hope this solves your issue and please provide feedback so I can ensure I am providing the right solution to everyone.

Thank you,

Rox

To fix the issue:

1. Hold down CTRL + ALT + DEL on the logon screen and select Change User.

6. Login using normal credentials and you should be able to login successfully
7. To prevent it from happening again in the future, uninstall Credential Manager without removing identities (option), reboot and reinstall from the hard disk c:\SWSetup\HPtools, or download the latest Credential Manager from the following link:
- http://h20219.www2.hp.com/Hpsub/cache/292230-0-0-225-121.html or search via www.hp.com site if the link fails to work.

Hope this helps all HP laptop owners! =)

The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook - Outlook 2007

' The messaging interface has returned an unknown error. If the problem persists, restart Outlook. '

An interesting issue arised at work, which I felt I should add to my Blog to help others in the same boat. As years gone by, I have noticed that Google has too much information that sometimes it just doesn't do it's job quickly and accurately enough.

Anyway, to cut the long story short, let's proceed with the problem and conclude it with the solution.

Symptoms:
- Unable to delete items in your deleted items folder (including Archived Folder)?
- Suspect that the .pst file is corrupted?
- Or simply that error message keeps popping up?

If the above is what you are experiencing, then proceed with the following solution:

1. Close Outlook.
2. Go to c:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\OFFICE12 and run Scanpst.exe.
3. Microsoft Office Outlook 2007 Inbox Repair Tool will open. Click browse and locate the PST file that you want to check.
4. After you located the pst file, click the Start button.
5. If errors are found, click repair.
6. Start outlook and see if the .pst file is now working properly.

For more information, please go to http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HA100758311033.aspx .

Please leave a comment if the above solution worked or not. Thanks! =)

MS Word 2007 Cannot Print Out Embedded Excel Object

Hello Friends,

Working as an IT Support Officer, I recently came across an issue at work where a few staff are not able to print out embedded Excel objects (graphics, tables, equations, etc...) in Word 2007 document (.docx). After several unsuccessful searches for solutions on the Internet and going through the same issue everyone else is experiencing, I did a trial and error with settings on MS Word 2007 and finally concluded with a solution to overcome it. So I thought I might share it with the people in IT and the rest of the World who uses MS Office 2007 suite.

Depending on which printer used (at work, we have HP and Ricoh printers), it will either print out a blank spot or a black box. Print Preview will show the embedded object as we wanted it to be, however the printouts just doesn't produce the expected results.

My solution involves converting the docx file to pdf using MS Office Add-in: "Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS" option. If you haven't already done so, please click on the following link and install the Add-in.

2007 Microsoft Office Add-in: Microsoft Save as PDF or XPS

Once that's done, open the word document and follow the following instructions.

1. In Word 2007, click Office button > point to Save As > click on PDF or XPS option.

2. In Publish as PDF or XPS dialog box, click Options.

3. In Options dialog box, remove tick in ISO 19005-1 compliant (PDF/A) and leave a tick in Bitmap text when fonts may not be embedded. Click OK. Click Publish.

4. Open the PDF file, and then print it out as you would normally do.

The end result should be what you would expect if Word 2007 actually works and hopefully Microsoft will find a solution to that issue in the next Service Pack 2. Hopefully this will save you AU$80 tech support call to Microsoft.

Please leave a comment if this solution fixes or doesn’t fix your issue. Thank you.
